Working Principle

Small molecular sieve oxygen generators utilize the principle of pressure swing adsorption (PSA) to increase oxygen concentration by adsorbing nitrogen and other gas components. The working process is as follows:

  1. Adsorption Process: Compressed air is injected into a sealed adsorption tower filled with molecular sieves. As the pressure inside the tower rises, the molecular sieves adsorb a large amount of nitrogen from the compressed air, while oxygen remains in a gaseous state and is collected through pipelines.

  2. Desorption Process: When the molecular sieves reach their nitrogen adsorption saturation threshold, the adsorption tower is depressurized by blowing air. As the pressure decreases, the molecular sieves' nitrogen adsorption capacity declines, releasing nitrogen as exhaust gas.

  3. Continuous Oxygen Production: To ensure stable oxygen output, most oxygen generators use two (or more) adsorption towers. Controlled by a rotating separation valve, one tower undergoes adsorption while the other undergoes desorption, alternating to achieve continuous oxygen generation.
